Hello there,
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an online college that offers a LPN to RN program that's accredited and recognized by the state of Illinois? I've been googling for a while but it's getting hard to tell what is a legitimate program or not. Does anyone have any experience with these or taken any online bridge programs like this? Is one better than another? Cost? Any recommended names?
Thank you

Joliet Junior College has a LPN-RN bridge program it's accredited and well respected. If you are in the northern suburbs I don't know if College of DuPage has one or not.

I believe that COD is phasing out its LPN stuff. You might try talking to them about their regular RN program, though. They may give credit for an lpn.
Thanks for all the responses. I've looked at Oakton's and Joliet College's website but it doesn't seem like their programs are completely online. If I could skip commuting to a classroom I would definitely prefer to do so.

I live in Illinois- I'm not completely sure there are any LPN-RN programs 100% online. I've seen many RN-BSN though. Just my 2 cents :)
However- I'm also not for sure on that

There will not be 100% online bridge program because of the clinical portion. There are hybrid programs where the class portion is online but you will still have to do clinicals & labs in person.

Many of the individuals above correctly note that LPN to RN programs are hybrid, instead of totally online- which you will find for RN-BSN programs.
One of the best places to go is the Illinois Center for Nursing website- where you will get the absolute answer for program accreditation

Be sure to check which schools are on the "probation" - or even there was a program that was closed as recently as July 2014

There are definitely some very good programs, but there are also others of questionable quality- the numbers (especially if schools are on probation)- often speak for themselves. Nclex pass rates are also good indicators to review when you're selecting a program
Good luck!
