Has anyone taken a general chem course online that felt as though they were still in the classroom but without actually having to go? Meaning you were not 100% teaching yourself the material. My sibling has a degree in biology and I may just be traumatized still from watching her get through all those heavy courses. I like online learning and I am weighing the option with assistance from a tutor of course.

Did you ever get any info? Commenting to get any updates. I have an old chemistry sequence that I took that I need to take again due to age. Timing is always a big thing in Nursing school with the big gaps between the app deadline and the actual start of the program, so I was trying to knock it back out quick. The ABSN I'm looking at does take the U of Phoenix sequence which would get both done in about 14 weeks (7 each).

It is interesting to hear your perspective. I teach online general Chemistry 1 and 2. For each topic in my courses, I suggest students watch a few short videos (from Youtube). At the beginning of the term, I provide the students with a list of recommended videos. Personally, I have tended to avoid videotaping my in-class lectures as hour long videos can be tiresome to watch. (Youtube viewing analytics shows this.)
I highly recommend getting the help of an in-person tutor if you are taking any online class, especially if it is math or science. For this reason, I encourage my students to collaborate with each other and seek tutoring.
