Ok so I am a BSN RN with 7 years experience. I need an online program due to military family involvement. I did my BSN online so I am familiar with online classes and have a high GPA for my BSN. I am open to FNP or Adult Gero Primary Care. I work at a huge federal army hospital so preceptors should not be a problem.
My stipulations are:
1. No for profit schools or questionable schools
2. Campus visits must be low (only a few visits over entire program max or no visits)
3. Total cost under $40,000
4. High board passing rate
5. I will get good education, mentorship, experience preparing me for boards and advanced clinical practice (especially since I have been out of bedside clinical nursing for a couple years now)
I have researched a ton and have come up with the following as potentials:
INDIANA STATE
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN INDIANA
FRONTIER
UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI
IPFW PURDUE (INDIANA)
UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Any personal experience or advice anyone can offer on the good/bad of these programs? I would love to hear from any graduated NPs as well. Thanks guys! xoxo
