Online CPR

I did Red Cross CPR online through the Red Cross themselves. It wasn't bad at all: I had two weeks to review the online content and take the test at the end, then I had 30 days to attend a skills session through my local chapter (though if you can't find a skills session within that time period, just call them up and they'll extend the deadline for you).

It is amazing how much one can forget in a year, if red cross and in two years if AHA. Many CPR classes do not last all day,and can be done in like 4 hours. It is very good to spend a few hours one a year or once every two years and go over it live as a refresher. Yes, many of us have been thru it a million times, so it seems.. but you really do forget things since CPR is not used very often, unless you work in ER or ICU areas.
Would never recommend an online version. Most of them are not accepted by respectable employers.
AHA or Red Cross is the only way to be safe.
I recommend red cross, because it is a one year card, and you have to refresh anything you may have forgotten at least annually.. a good plan in my opinion....
Besides, the best nurses are those who are always wanting and willing to learn more all the time.

AHA has an online CPR for healthcare providers and many places are now doing it this way. We had to print out the certificate, and you had a certain amount of time to do the skills check-off. The hospital set up specific times over in the nursing education building.

Much more convenient..I'm glad they do it this way now. And online learning is still learning. For someone that is highly motivated and a self starter, this is especially true. I will be starting an online BSN this winter and this will work better for me than sitting in a classroom all day and then working full time. No thanks, been there, done that!
