Has anyone renewed their CPR certification through an online course? What site did you use? What was your experience like? Was your employer okay with it?

I have used the American Heart Association's online course several times. I like it as it's much faster than the traditional course and I can do it on my schedule versus the hospital's schedule. We do have to be checked off on the demo part by the hospital though--tracking down someone in education to check me off was the most difficult part of it!
My facility is fine with online renewals, they provide us with codes so we don't pay for it. They still offer the traditional course for those who prefer it and for new hires.

My facility also honors on line CPR certifications. I have not used it just yet, but would in a heartbeat if I had no time left or no room in classes.

American Heart is great, but expensive. I try to renew ahead of time, so as not to miss the free classes we get at our hospital. My cert ran out and the class I was scheduled for was cancelled, so I had to use that one in order to be able to work the following week. It can be a real life and time-saver!

I've used the online cert class and liked it a lot.
