Online AAS/ADN program for students who completed 50% clinicals and failed

Nursing Students Online Learning

Hi fellow struggling students,

I was in AAS/ADN program in NYC and this past semester I failed out of the program. I would have graduated in Dec 2006. Is anyone aware of distance learning program which would allow me to continue my education and fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. If there is no AAS/ADN are there any LPN programs which would accept my credits which I have completed without having to redo all of my classes. Thanks for info.

Many of us who would be very good nurses becuase we care about people and given another chance would definitely appreciate it very much to achieve our dream.

Thanks.

Yes, they accepted me. Just a little on my background: I am an LPN and a former school teacher with a BS. I went to a local college in Louisiana from summer 2005 to December 2007. After I applied to Excelsior, they reviewed my transcripts from my former colleges. To be honest, I knew I would have to take some classes over. I received an informal review back. It stated I would have to take a literacy class, a sociology class, a psychology along with their nursing classes. I do not have to take the class formerly known as nc 2 due to my LPN background. However, if you completed 50% of your nursing classes you qualify. Would you consider just having them look at your college transcripts by applying for $75? I just enrolled Friday under a payment plan. However, I really did not have to enroll to sign up to take the first test. I am taking it February 9, 2008. It is Health safety. I am reading my fundamentals of nursing book, using studygroup 101, and taking Excelsior practice test. I want you to know when attending traditional school ended for me I was mentally and financially drained. However, I have found myself around very encouraging people (many on this board):) I am still very determined to complete my goal of becomomg an RN.

thanks for your response. did you tell Excelsior that you went to nursing school??? did you send them your transpcrpts from that school?? and they still accepted you? if sop, thats great!! Did you say that you failed out of nursing school or no...?

My transcripts indicated the school of nursing I attended. I sent Excelsior all of my transcripts from each college I attended. My transcripts indicated my last semester I made an F.

A girl I met at my CPNE had failed her traditional nursing program during her last semester (BSN) so she ended up going with Excelsior, but she had completed and PASSED 50% of the program. As long as you passed 50% of it, I don't think they care about the rest. Hope this helps.
