Has anyone done their ACLS recertification on-line?
I just looked at their website, ACLSonline.com, and for $175 you can test on ACLS or PALS.
I've always taken the classroom version, and the review is great, but I could live without all the mega-codes and simulations (get enough of the real thing, thanks) and just get down to self motivated review and testing.
Do you-all think this is a legitimate option? Would you do it, or have you done it? How was it?
I think that ACLS re-certification on line should be allowed for experienced health professionals who use ACLS frequently in their practice. After all you can get a graduate degree online so why not ACLS? I found a great website, www.aclsrecertonline.com, that provides a review of skills, pracitce questions, and the re-certification exam. When you pass the card is sent.
That's all well and good, and I don't disagree with your statements. But the majority of hospitals in my area will only recognize the official AHA card...which is only available if you "lay hands" on a manikin.
