On an average...how much does RNs and LVN new grads make

Published

In dallas, it depends what company you work for.

At hospitals you make about 15$a hour but with home health care you make about 22$ a hour.

Specializes in Home Health.

I'm a new grad LVN (lvn as of 1-14-10) and I make 25/hour @ a HHA. (dallas, texas)

Ybstressed....I'm a new LPN grad (as of 10/6/2009) in the eastcoast and am seriously considering searching for opportunities in the DFW area. New grads are experiencing a helll of a difficult time landing the 1st job, a trend that's typically nationwide but probably seems like the eastcaost ities are major hit. What would be your advice on that, considering your license is a month old and have already landed a homehealth agency nurse position.basically my question is:are all doors turning down new grads in that area(and Texas) in general or are there jobs for newly licensed nurses? I am open to any nursing avenue, be it homehealth, hospital, longterm care, etc.

Your input would be greatly appreciated!

The Dallas area is over-saturated with new grads. People that already live here are having difficulty getting internships. And I will add that Dallas is not very LPN/LVN friendly in most acute care settings, they've gone to almost all RN staffs. The exception being the nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health and LTAC's. There are some of those avenues that will hire/train a new grad.

ybstressed..... what agency do you work for in dallas?
