This may have already been discussed, graduating in May, starting a job August 18th, I do not think I will need some of my nursing books, so my questions is, did you all keep/sale/giveaway your nursing books? Just looking for some advice, i've sold some of my speciality books, like psych, peds, and managament books, but I'm still holding on to my Med-Surg, and the fun (sarcasm) Nursing Dx books!
Thanks, newbienurse2011

I kept all of them for about 5 years, and added new ones as I got jobs in specialized areas. I did sell several on an online auction site even though they were the previous edition (and made that clear on the auction listing). I keep reference books, and even though I'm not working now, still update some of them periodically.
I never regretted keeping books- I did regret selling them without an updated version.
I was told in nursing school that the only thing in medicine that doesn't change every 5 years is basic anatomy....:) Books get updated a lot- but I limit those to the basics, and a few that pertain to my personal situation now.
