Thanks so much! program started this week so we have been kept busy.

CVICU nurse for 3 years. CCRN-CSC-CMC. 3.8 GPA. Interview was both clinical based questions and get to know you questions.

Thank you so much! Sorry for the delay in responding. The Interview was actually one of the better ones I've been to. My biggest piece of advice is be able to show how you are ACTIVELY trying to get into school, GPA and all that non-sense aside. I did have my CCRN, CMC, and CSC. Honestly though most schools don't really care about the latter two, just the CCRN. My GRE score helped me a bit too I think. Good luck with your application:)

Specializes in ICU.

Thank you so much!!! Congratulations to you!!! Wishing you both the best!

Hi! I was wondering about how you like the program? I have an interview at ODU next month and am very excited! From a student's perspective, how do you like the classes/professors so far? Do you like Norfolk?

That’s so exciting! And congrats on getting an interview.

So far I like school. We just started our second semester. The classwork the first semester was good to get back into the “school mode”. Second semester kicked things up a notch and keeps us busy, as we are starting in the simulation lab as well with more classes directed to anesthesia specifically, where first semester had more generic DNP classes like research. The professors are great and really personable and make the learning environment fun and not so serious.

The nursing program, CRNA program included, doesn’t meet on main campus in Norfolk but rather in virginia beach. And I enjoy Virginia Beach so far. But it’s very different than back home from out of state.

Good luck on your interview!

I also have an interview next month! Any advice?

Thanks so much for your reply! I’m from PA so I’m hoping to like Virginia Beach area!

The interview is a panel style where it is you and about 7-10 people. Lasted about 15-20 minutes. They ask you both clinical and personal style questions. So I would have answers to questions like:

Why do you you want to be a CRNA?

Why ODU?

How do you handle stress?

Name a drug and talk about the MOA, receptor, and indications?

... and other questions directed to your clinical experience and situations.

This year I am sure they are doing it "rolling interview" style, where it wasn't when I was applying so I don't know how soon they will let you know their decision. But I found out within a couple days after the interview. I would just focus on things that make you unique above other applicants, not things like you have your "CCRN" because all the other applicants will have that as well.

Hi all! Has anyone heard anything from this round of admissions?
