Oklahoma Health Science Center LPN to BSN

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

I am currently a LPN and I plan on going to OU for my BSN and doing their bridge program. I have to enroll in a chemistry class this week and I cannot get a hold of anyone at OU about the Chemistry prerequisite. I was wondering who all has gone here and what chemistry class they took. I am taking this chemistry class at OCCC and I was told I could do the survey of gen, org, and bio but then Ive also heard you should take the Gen Chem 1. If anyone could help me out that would be super helpful. Thanks!

Hey bethanie.allie!

I don't go to OCCC but I do attend OU. They recommend that we take CHEM 1315 here - which apparently is equivalent to CHEM 1115 (General Chemistry I) at OCCC (I looked it up on the course equivalency database). So if I were you, I'd take General Chemistry I!

Thank you so much! That's super helpful. I will plan on that.

No problem, happy I could help! OU's College of Nursing site has a lot of info about their prereqs, how to apply, when to apply etc. If you Google "OU Nursing" it should be the first thing that pops up!

Yes take Gen chem 1, survey of chem will not transfer anywhere!
