Hello!

I was recently accepted to the Kramer School of Nursing for the Fall of 2020 and was wondering if any fellow classmates are on here. I am also originally from Texas and potentially looking for a roommate!

I am wanting to apply for Spring 2024. Can you tell me what the schedule is like?

How many days a week are the lecture, and labs and what are the hours? Like 8-4? And clinicals? Just trying to get an idea so I know if it's even possible with having 3 kids and trying to get daycare situated ect.

For first semester my schedule looks like:

Mondays: pharmacology 9:00-11:50 am

tuesdays: foundations of nursing lecture 9:00-11:50 am, health assessment lecture 2:00-3:50 pm

wednesdays: foundations lab 9-11:50 am, health lab 2-4:50 pm

thursdays: clinical judgment 9-11:50 am

clinical judgment is only a 10 week course, then we have clinicals for foundations the last 5 weeks of the semester once a week (Thurs or Friday, AM or PM). Today I met two moms, one with a full time job, about to graduate this December. I definitely think it's doable! There are only a few clinical rotations that have 2 days a week. I'm sure as the semesters go on it gets more difficult but I just keep reminding myself it's only for a year and a half!

Thank you for replying. I also work full time but from home so maybe I can still try to do that for a little while too! Do you know your clinical days a decent amount of time in advance?

You're welcome! I'm not sure about that part yet. I have my clinical orientation next week so I can update you. They have you fill out a survey with your clinical shift preferences and if you have children/need childcare. I feel like they're pretty accommodating

What is the facial piercing policy? I have ny nose and septum pierced with modest jewelry. Will I need to find retainers or take them out completely?

Most hospitals don't really mind piercings or tattoos anymore. They just encourage you to not wear dangling jewelry. I would probably just flip the septum piercing up but there are a few people in my class with nose piercings

How is it so far? I just got accepted for Jan 2024

Hi, are you in the accelerated program? And is there a lot of competition, when it comes to being accepted? Like are they looking for anything particular?

Hi!

I was wondering how the program has been for you? Any updates?

Hello, Is there anyone starting in Fall 2025? I was offered a conditional admission and I'm trying to get to know people, especially because I'm looking for prospective roommates too. What's the program like? Anyone?

Hi Leimoon, did you finish the program? How did it go?
