Someone please help me deal with a coworkers rude behavior!!! We have a coworker who burps all shift long , let me change that to Belches all shift. :angryfire

Like something a bunch guys would be doing in a bar to see who is the loudest. And let me say she would win!!! I have had it!!!!

Everyone talks about it but nobody is doing anything to stop her. Tonight there was a doctor present to over hear her, and she just laughed. It was so embarrassing:eek::eek: to be present for that example. It is so unprofessional. Before anyone asks if it is medical . there are times when she masks the sound. I dont care if it is medical you can still put your hand over your mouth to decrease the sound effect. Help IAM going to snap soon :banghead:

Copy this thread and hang it at the nurses' station. :D

It is unprofessional - and I've had patients mention that they have heard the conversation at the nurses' station in their rooms and don't appreciate all the gossipy talk. I can just imagine them hearing nurses burping and laughing. What an image.

Ask this nurse to try to stop. If that doesn't help, go higher up. I like the HR idea.

And if the nurse who does this is reading this because your co-worker copied this thread and hung it up - cut the nurse some slack. She had no idea how to solve this and was looking for help.

Ask her if she needs some phenergan and an emesis basin. Actually, just keep the emesis basin handy or offer it to her the next time she belches.

Oh my word, I think I've worked with her! LOL! Except this woman would not only burp, LOUDLY, but then turn to you and say something like "(Insert your name here)! How rude!" regardless of who was around. She drove me nuts, especially when other non-unit staff were on the unit (physicians, et al).
