Hello,

I had a phone interview with the Cleveland Clinic yesterday. I was wondering how long it typically takes to hear back for a second interview? They told me they are putting my information into a pool and if any departments are interested in me they will contact me. They also said my information will be in their pool for up to six months.

For those of you that got hired at the Cleveland Clinic, how long did it it take from the phone interview until your second job interview? From your phone interview until starting your job there?

Thank you everyone who will respond! I appreciate it!

You have to be proactive to get into the clinic. Everyone I know that has gotten a job there harassed recruiters none stop. What I recommend doing is looking at the open RN positions, and when you find a job you would like, call the recruiter for that hospital and say "can you please forward my application to the manager of X department for the Y position they have open" don't wait for the clinic to call you, you will be waiting a while.

Thank you so much for the advice! I will give them a call tomorrow!

I didn't have to harass anyone, thankfully. I had the phone interview, during which they informed me of the same thing--entered into a pool, units interested would call, etc. I got a call the very next day for a face-to-face interview in Palliative Care, which was right up my alley. I had some pre-existing schedule conflicts, so I didn't get in for the interview for about a week.

It was fairly casual--showing me around the unit, letting me ask questions, and a very brief sit-down with the unit manager wherein she more or less seemed to be selling me on the unit and only asked maybe 2 questions which were not hard. Ten days later (due again to my schedule conflicts with a contract I had), she had me shadow another nurse for a couple of hours and sit in on their morning meeting. At that point, she informed me she had other interviews to conduct that week, so of course I was sort of nervous that this was a nice way of saying, "No thanks."

About a week later the recruiter called and offered me a position. The process probably would have been shorter if not for my already full schedule. I start all the testing and HR stuff in less than 2 weeks (3 separate days of physical, knowledge and paperwork stuff), intending to officially orient on Dec.8th.

During this whole time, I got one other call the day after the initial Palliative request for a face-to-face from Marymount Hospital. But their recruiter was sort of rude and not willing to wait 10 days for an interview, so she said she'd confirm if they could do it the day I suggested and she never did. I haven't received any other interest calls during the last month this has all taken place, but it appears that they are on a hiring spree of some sort, because they have hired a significant portion of my classmates from this past May.

Hope you heard from them by now!

I will agree on the hiring spree! All of a sudden everyone I know is easily finding jobs in the clinic system! Lucky for all of us May grads!!

I had an interview with the Cleveland Clinic 3 weeks ago and they are still interviewing up until today so maybe I will find out next week.

I also had another interview at the clinic for another position (both of these are residencies) yesterday and was told it would take about 10 days to find out.

Not fun waiting, that's for sure!

If you are a new grad any position you take is a residency just so you know :) best of luck to you!!

Hi everyone. I applied to Cleveland Clinic today and got an email for a phone interview. Are any of you from out of state? I'm from California and am trying to plan ahead (looking at travel rates and endorsement to Ohio) in case I get through to in-person interviews.

Hello allnurses.com members,

I have a face-to-face interview coming up with a nursing manager at the Cleveland Clinic. Would anyone that has had an in-person interview there please give me some examples of interview questions that they have been asked? I Thank You in advance for your information.

After I applied it took about a week for a phone interview and by the end of the phone interview I had several interviews scheduled with a manager.
