I agree with above post. Please do not talk to anyone about this, especially your current coworkers. You will need to get a attorney that has experience with the board. The attorney will recommend that you take drug tests, hair and urine. You will need to prove that you don't have a problem with THC. I would hate for you to end up in the monitoring program over this. Please keep us updated. I am sorry this is happening to you.
LAWYER UP AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT, ANSWER NO QUESTIONS even yes or no questiond. WITHout AN ATTORNEY PRESENT, not even to your friends, RIGHT NOW YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS! DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT THINK YOU CAN DO THIS WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY. HIGHER ONE. NO MEETINGS, NO PHONE CALLS, NO IN PERSON VISITS WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY, YOUR ATTORNEY PRESENT IN PERSON or via video conference . AND EVEN THEN WATCH WHAT YOU SAY. Tell the truth. Every nurse that accessed that drug should be tested. And when was the count off. Did the previous person enetr10 instead of one. Who knows. Start taking notes. Don't ask any Co workers questions about the issue.

Long crazy story and I’d like to get an idea of what to expect. I pulled narcotic from Pyxis and there was a discrepancy. Found out the next day the count was off by 10. Work drug test me and I test positive for THC and I’m fired for failed drug test. I wasn’t fired for the missing medications. Few months later a cop comes to my house to talk to me about it. Very nice officer. He states Ohio Board of Nursing is so far behind he had to look into it because nothing had been looked into for so long, about 4 months. Apparently nursing board investigator on my case quit and they should look into it the next few weeks. Officer told me he believes nurse that pulled narcotic before me left a sleeve of pills on the Pyxis keyboard by accident and someone grabbed them. He had also talked to the other nurse, she passed her drug test. Could have been anybody who works there. There were people who used Pyxis before me but I was the first to pull the narcotic that was off so I was the unlucky one to get caught up in this mess. What do you think the Ohio Board Of Nursing will do to me? The officer was going to give them his report and he said they may just go off of his report or they may need to talk to me too. So I feel like the pills aren’t being blamed on me but I did test positive for THC so that doesn’t look good. Thanks!!
