finished in Ohio
Congratulations, as I felt your excitement over a year ago, but my experience with the OBN was not good and my infraction was diverting a water pill approximately 10 times due to body related issues no substances involved.

Terminated for suspected diversion, PNAP now involved
And honestly when I diverted a water pill that is when I covered the med cup with my hand so it was not seen or observed what was in the med cup.

Not sure what your experience is???? But my experience is and was on a fast paced acute somewhat observation unit where my 6-7 patient load turned over very fast so basically you had to be able to multi task more than likely triple task would take care of up to 12 patients if not more in a 12 hr shift (admitting, admission orders, following out the admission orders, all consults, coordinating their test, labs unless I had to draw them due to a central line, coordinating with pharmacy in case their were interactions with drugs or allergies and speak or try to be the middle person or coordinator should say between the doctor and ancillary staff) kinda as if you were working in the Er not as high acuity but more than 2-3 patients so if your able to manage walking out every time with your hand covering the med cup that you just filled kudos to you and keep up with a high intense sometime extremely demanding assignment hands down to you, like said if you worked in the types of environments I have in nursing you would never make that comment but yet would understand.

LPN 85 trust me through my 19 year career I would go to the Pyxis pull my patients meds out narcotics controlled substances if any at all and walk out of the med room with the small med cups or just straight in my hand to administer to a patient and than oh wait the doctor you have been waiting for all morning day shows up or that phone call return finally happens or that family members who may or may not be upset wants to talk to you So you address those issues as professionally as you can if scheduled you have a time frame to give now if PRN and asked by patient you address to appease those ones you were waiting on and move on as fast as you can to administer that PRN med and yes in the mean time I have put that class of medication in my pocket with no other intentions.

- Reinstated restricted license
My license was fully reinstated in February of 2022 unrestricted and unencumbered and my discipline is completely for public viewing was trying to get a PRN position with a local or semi local agency would not even touch me received an email you are permanently revoked for applying here, very sad and their loss I have 19 years experience in acute, skilled, LTC and cardiology office and ironically my infraction with the board was because I took a water pill 10 times but have been permanently banished by these people and although I made a mistake and worked with these so called agencies who want to hold a high standard which they do not because half the nurses and aides at least on night shift sleep and do not chart very inattentive to their job or should say do not care. I honestly wish you the I hate to say luck but that we all find our home as nurses who honestly made some mistakes.- My New Position Makes Me Want To Drink
New grad not decent orientation which I believe is happening pretty much in most not all facilities. I was a new grad 19 years ago working 12 hr nights on an med/surg oncology unit patients died weekly, the floor had 3 pods with total of 12 beds at that time still utilized LPN's which what they could do was limited and ultimately I was responsible for all 12 or if we were short staffed I was by myself with 12 and acuity was not at the ICU level but pretty much up there at that time I did not want to drink but I did want to quit nursing and had plenty of panic attacks which I sought out my doctor at that time after certain length of time I was able to put in for a transfer which I did and life in nursing got better. I hope you are able to find that as I did.- Terminated for suspected diversion, PNAP now involved
Once the Board learns you have a lawyer all communication is ceased with you and they can only communicate with that said Lawyer and are no longer aloud to speak with you. I agree with one of the above comments your Lawyer should be the only one submitting any documentation to the the Board and if they have dealt with the Board or any Boards in the past they should and would know this.- Criminal Charges No Lawyer
Hello, unfortunately can not reply directly to you on this site as I am sure due to stipulations. But to answer your question Yes, was charged with theft, illegal processing of drug documents, and drug possession which like I said was eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction as long as I complied with all their stipulations (ie: AA meeting once a week, meet with my probation officer and provide a clean urine drug screen once a month) for 1 year which I did was found not guilty and my record is now clean, expunged and sealed. Now the Board is much more punitive I found dealing with the Legal system much easier and less stressful which you would think would be the opposite, but in regards to a lawyer would not of hired one for the legal aspect would of went with a public defender and was told through someone in the courts my outcome would of been the same, but with the Board I would have a Lawyer because like I said much more punitive and absolutely no guidance even with the monitor that I was assigned to, now my discipline with the Board will be forever public but yet the legal is not which I find baffling. I truly understand what you are experiencing and how mentally messed up you are right the big thing that sucks is the unknown and that is our biggest fear. I do truly hope you get through this sucky situation fast with the least amount of battle wounds and scars.- Ohio Board Failed Drug Test
THC as long as that is all your charged with by the OBN is honestly a slap on the hand compared to what I went through, you will not loose your license or even have it suspended will be placed on probation with the OBN for a year and do random drug test.- Criminal Charges No Lawyer
I diverted as well back in 2017 was charged with three different counts was able to get intervention in lieu of conviction spent 1 year on probation had to go to a AA meeting once a week, see the probation officer once a month and provide a drug urine. I hired a lawyer who was a joke honestly felt would have gotten the same deal with a public defender and waisted my money. I hired a better more reputable lawyer to represent me in front of the board. Hope my this helps. I feel for you I am glad this nightmare is finally behind me.- New Grad in recovery, is PNAP mandatory?
Yes, you will have to disclose majority of hospital’s and health care facilities it says on their application have access to sealed or expunged records as well as the boards especially since your involved in direct patient care.- Peth test
In 2019 did a 5k run on St Patrick’s day had about 4 22 ounce beers after the run last time I drank prior was September 2018 pulled for a peth 17 days later failed got suspended again which actually ended up being a good thing as I was able to go on vacation live my life for 4 months and my second consent agreement was better, not as strict, and less time than the first one ironically enough, I have now have a full unencumbered license done thankfully with the board, I truly feel for all of you.- Specialty test? FSS ohio
Yep, 142.50 plus 61.50 collection fee for total 204. Plus they were so kind enough to choose a site for me downtown two days after the riots/looting with a city wide curfew.- Specialty test? FSS ohio
I am from Ohio I just did a “specialty test” last week it was a Peth Test the only thing special about it was the cost. - Reinstated restricted license
