Oh, my aching head!

Just wondering how many other nurses out there have to deal with migraines.

I've had them since I was 5y old...for 35y now I have had to learn to live with them. Some days are better than others, but I am another one of those people who needs to use pain medication daily in order to function.

Nothing other than the daily pain medicine has helped me. Trust me when I say that I have tried everything, and I do mean everything to get relief.

Anyone else out there who gets migraines?

fab.... so sorry you suffer like this. i've had migraines before, but not very often. they got much better when i switched jobs. i occasionally have a hormonal headache, menstrual migraine but if i can get to sleep it's gone when i get up. maybe you can find some help here... http:// http://www.clinicaltrials.gov wish i knew a secret cure, feel better soon :) Wendy

Hello!

If you suffer from mirgraine once a week or more, your doctor should consider medication to take everyday, - as atacand, zestril or betablokker.

None likes to take medicin, but because of rebound and other side-effedt, you should try Atacand. I have allmost lost my headache. I have to say, that many tings in my life also has changed to the positive, and its an important factor. Nightshift was nothing for me, neihter choclate, cheese, red-wine and unregular dayrythm. I have to eat every 3 or 4 hours, I am "hooked" on aerobic/ecxcercise, and have to take cryo-treatment every 3.mnd, when the nerves in theoccpiital-region were frozen by cryo to minus 70 degrees. I have been much better!

Hope you have a good neurologist and anestesiologist!

:)
