Hi all!

Anyone applying to the BSN program in the fall at ODU (Old Dominion University)? Just thought I'd create a thread for all of us.

Nothing on my end yet. Looking over the last few years it looks like people started getting notified around March 15.

I got into ODU. Did you get in ODU or TCC? I guess ill see you at orientation ?

Hey for those of you guys that applied for odu can you provide insight of what the process is like? Is it mandatory to have experience in a hospital or volunteer hours, I currently hold a 3.5 I'm only missing general chemistry but I don't have clinic experience or done internships but I'm really trying to transfer for fall 2023

You don't need any clinical or health care experience, but it will help you tremendously when you actually get into the program. The people who have health care experience most of time ace the exams. I did not have any experience personally but they always look at the applicant as a whole picture. I had a previous unrelated bachelor degree, 3.82 GPA, and a HESI score of 94%. They really look at your HESI score and the scores you got on your science pre-requisites. Our cohort had very high grades close to 4.0 GPAs, that's why ODU is super competitive. You need to have an 80 on all nursing exams thats why they try to take the ones that are more likely to succeed in the program. In our first semester, about 25 people out of 80 either dropped out or failed a fundamental class and could not continue.

Did any of you guys opt in for odu co enrollment, I also got accepted to a cc and want to complete my BSN by 2025, would you guys recommend odu nursing co enrollment? Are the professors good?
