OCNE Schools PCC/CCC/MHCC 2022

Published

Hi everyone!

I just finished up applications to CCC and PCC for 2022. Thought it would be nice to have a forum to discuss all things nursing school related. Feeling very nervous yet excited. Anyone went through the process last year and can give insight on what to expect? Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Hi there! I went through the process last year and honestly didn't expect much from it since I was first year applicant BUT I made it. I wish you all the luck. As to what to expect... make sure to check your emails, practice interview questions and if you can look at the immunization requirements carefully ? Anything else on your mind?

Hi! Which school did you get accepted to? Can you talk about your experience in the program so far?

thanks so much for replying!

I got accepted to CCC but I applied to only MHCC and CCC.

I love it here! The faculty are sooo welcoming and understanding of my life situations. I took all my prereqs at MHCC so CCC was never my first option. I'm glad it turned out like this since I got waitlisted so far down the list for MHCC.

NP!

Hi! I applied to PCC this year. If I totaled up my point distribution correctly, I should have 50 points. I'm really hoping to make it to phase 2! Good luck to you:-)

So glad things worked out for you! I've heard great things about CCC and only okay things about PCC. I hope I get the opportunity to interview at both. Are you able to work part time or is the program too time demanding?

Wow! I'm sure you'll get an interview. I do not have a health care certification so that hurt me with points. I think ill have 43 or 44 I'm hoping that's enough. Good luck to you too! Sounds like we should be hearing back early April for phase 2.

I am fortunate to not work while in nursing school but I have many peers who work part time and still manage to get A's and B's. Personally, I don't think it matters as long as your job is flexible as nursing school schedule changes each term!

Thanks! Sorry for the million questions, this will be my last one. How has your clincal experience been since covid? Are you back in the hospitals at all? If so, where do you get to do clinicals at?

Fingers and toes are crossed! I'm not sure if you saw this on PCC's website at all but here were some stats from 2020:

PCC’s Nursing program is highly competitive. We typically receive 500–800 applications each year for up to 32 spaces.

2020 statistics for applicants invited to the proctored essay:

368 applications received

100 students invited to sit for the essay

Average prerequisite GPA: 3.76

Percent complete with all 45 prerequisites: 89%

Percent with a prior degree: 75%

Percent with some health care experience: 94%

32 seat offers

Specializes in ED RN.

Hi! I also created a thread yesterday but now I’m seeing this!! How cool is that! I feel like it’s so unheard of to get into nursing school the first try!! You should be very proud of yourself! I also applied to CCC last year and had an interview but didn’t get accepted nor waitlisted. Those interview questions were not like ones that I had researched. You must’ve interviewed really well!! I’m hoping I get another interview this year with CCC and that second time is the charm! I also applied to 4 other schools but CCC is my first choice!

Good luck everyone!!

Has anyone heard if PCC has sent out final selections for Fall 2022 yet? I haven’t heard anything since the HSRT and don’t really know what to expect. I’m a first time applicant this year.

TIA!
