OCCC TRADITIONAL FALL 2019

Published

Hello,

has anyone submitted their application already?

I submitted with 15 points. I’m so anxious and have a long wait. Good luck everyone! Hopefully I’ll see you there!

I submitted my application this week with 15 points. I got waitlisted last semester with 14 points and didn't make it in, but I'm hoping 15 will get me in this time. Good luck everyone! It's going to be a long few weeks of waiting.

Kristamd, I have a friend applying with 14 as well. Wht was your GPA, if you don't mind me asking?

Best of luck everyone! ?

Eh, not great. Ha! I was waitlisted at #23, I believe everyone in front of me on the waitlist also had 14 points. They accepted about 10 or 11 from the waitlist. From what I've sen and been told, they often take more (which sounds crazy to me). I had a friends get in a couple years ago with 12, and a girl in her class got in at around #30 on the waitlist. It truly just depends on the bunch of people applying each semester. Good luck to you and your friend! I am nervous for all of us.

Wow 30 that is crazy! Hopefully the cut off for this year isnt super high. Thank you and hopefully we will see each other in August!

Yes I know one girl got in with 14 and she is alternative #1. So weird. And did they give you the letter to attend the 1+1 program LPN to RN? I wish if only I can get that letter. I’ll go to LPN then come back to RN later.

Yea I believe all the alternates that got in last semester had 14 points. I did not get that letter, and I don't know anyone in that application group that did. I actually knew nothing about it until I found the forum on here for last fall, so I'm thinking that it's a program that only starts in the fall and not offered for a spring start, but I don't know that for sure. I agree though, I would take that if offered! It still gets you started!

Does anyone know what the schedule will be like? I am new to the area and I don't know anyone. I was wondering if any of you know anyone who has been through the program here. I am trying to figure out what kind of childcare I will need.

Mondays there is lab from 8-5pm. Lecture T/TH from 9-12pm, there are also clinicals once a week I believe we get to pick where and when, but it is not guaranteed

My understanding is that I think we get to say which clinical we want, but ultimately they'll assign them to us. I could be wrong, but that's the impression I got. Someone told me before you can switch clinical group (if you need a different day) with someone else, if they're willing and the instructor approves.

I know it's a little late for this question. I took the TEAS at a different school because OCCC did not have any spot open. Besides uploading the TEAS score under "other tab" on nursingCas, was I supposed to do something else?

I scanned it in under the documents and typed in the scores under standardized test. But, the accuplacer under standardized test won’t recognize the next generation scores. So I left that one blank (that’s what they told me to do). They said as long as you scan it in they see the scores.

Ok, thank you so much.... I took the TEAS @Redlands last Wednesday. And all I did was uploading the report. So I was wondering if something else needed to be done.

Thank you!
