OCCC Spring 2015

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hello,

Is anyone applying for the nursing program at OCCC in the spring? I turned my application in this past Monday, 8/11. I talked to the nursing counselor, so I might be able to answer some of your questions. She only sees 5 or 6 people a day. It's going to get worse as the deadline for the spring gets closer, which is some time around labor day. Couple of key facts that I can share:

  • Point cut off last semester (Fall 2014) for alternates was 16. She said if you have 17 or 18 you have a good competitive chance at getting in.
  • This is the last time that Pharmacology, Medical Terminology, and Nursing Overview will be used for preference points.
  • She told me that I could earn a CNA by attending a 2 week course. I don't have the information in front of me but I can look for it if anyone needs it.

Hope that helps! :)

I decided to wait until June and try for the BADNAP program. To the person that gets the spot, sorry I took so long to decline. Lol I had to think it over. Best of luck to all the people who got accepted and the alternates!!

Hi everyone! I wanted to see if anyone had any information about the alternate list? Im alternate #7 and was wondering how many alternates (on avg) get in spring semester? I think ive moved up though i was #7 day one. Anything is helpful im losing my mind waiting for the call!!!!!

Mimi. My friend was alternate number 3 and she was accepted almost 2 weeks ago ? good luck!

Thanks nevergiveup! That makes me excited and nervous! I heard last semester they only went to alternate 3! I had 17 pts and still was #7 this semester was pretty competitive. Does anyone know what the cutoff was?

The cut off was 17 because that's what I had. But the GPA Is what made the difference. Mine was a little above a 3.0

I think you can call OCCC and they will tell you what alternate they are on now, they won't have a problem telling you that

Hello everyone. I created the FB PAGE for our class ;) it's called OCCC Nursing class of December 2016 it has a graduation CAP as the icon ;) hope to see you all join

If any other alternates are wondering they are still on alternate #4 im #7 . I was told by the director of the nursing program and the lady over admissions that i do have a very very good chance of getting in and to make sure i do all the requirements necessary for admissions . The other colleges do not send out their acceptance letters until fall break so i still have a chance! And i will actually recieve a email mid november inviting me to orientation! Im just praying and trying to stay positive! Hopefully ill be able to be apart of that nursing group nevergiveup lol!

I looked for the FB page but didn't see it :(

Really? Hmmm its. OCCC nursing class of December 2016. It has a graduation cap as the icon

I couldn't find the FB page either?

Hmmmm?!? Maybe I did it wrong. I though I created the group correctly. I tried to upload a picture here but it won't let me ;-(
