Anyone applying to the BADNAP program through OCCC for 2017-2018?

I called the nursing department today and I was informed that the director said we won't find out till April 7th. So I'm just going to stop checking for now so I don't go crazy. That's two weeks away guys. Hang in there.

No that April 7th date is real. It's no joke.

Did she happen to say why it was taking so long or how many applicants there were? I guess I am really asking if there is any other new information she gave?

Does anyone know what the schedule looks like for Badnap? You know, besides crazy lol

Does anyone know when classes actually start?

From what I've heard, we would start the first day of summer semester.

That's June 5 right?

I don't know the schedule from experience, but this was a comment made on the post that was started by last year's applicants on this website -

"The schedule is a little crazy. You will have lecture every Wednesday. Lab days are usually Tuesday and Thursday and are heavy at the beginning of the class then taper off. Clinicals are random, but mostly on Saturday and Sunday."

Hope this helps!

Also I heard that 6 credit hours are online. And my friend who was in the program that just ended did have a lot of weekend clinicals, and some overnight.

I've heard the same BADNAP schedule as KDB93 posted. Definitely prepare for a pair of 12-hour weekend clinicals - day or nights depending on availability. Some may be eights but mostly 12s. I work with two people that have gone through the program and they agree. Just a note to all, working in the hospital as a tech I'll tell you working a 12-hour shift on the hospital floor takes a lot of getting used to. I would STRONGLY suggest if you're not used to being on your feet to start some type of strengthening program now for legs, calves and back. And by all means invest in a good pair of shoes.

April 7th?! I was told it took 4-6 weeks so I'm already super impatient. But I'm glad there's finally a set date!

I checked my MINEONLINE and they had a lot of details of courses going towards BADNAP. But it says I'm missing 6 hours of humanities. No advisor has ever questioned this or acted like I didn't have all the necessary coursework. Does anyone else's say that on mineonline? I'm panicking now....

Where did you see that? Just trying to figure out what to check.
