Anyone applying to the BADNAP program through OCCC for 2017-2018?

I plan on applying to their program! I have all of my pre-req's and testing done, so I think I will submit my application within the next couple of weeks. I am super nervous though, because I have heard it is really hard. Have you talked to anyone that has gone through it?

If you already have your bachelors go to OU. When you graduate from Otrip you will be an associate nurse. Meaning that if you want to advance you will have to do an RN to BSN program. They are usually 9 more months and you have to take a test to get in. However, OU has a program for people with degrees and it is 14 month. It is intense but you will save yourself more time and money. There are 3 campuses to choose from as well.

Yes, I'm submitting this month. Just the TEAS to take. I know it's a great program and an intense one. I work with one of the instructors.

I am applying again! I was an alternate last year. I am nervous I've talked to a lot of people that had to switch to a traditional because it was too hard.

Yea, the attrition rate for this program is usually not good. I think the current class is down to ~45 from the 62 or 63 that started. Last year was about the same. Some people drop because they decide it is not what they want to do. Most people dropped because they didn't meet the benchmark and failed out. For those that are able to make it through, getting your RN in 10 months is a sweet deal! But if you can't fully commit, or don't have some background in healthcare, I'd suggest the traditional program. You might end up saving time and money that way.

Hi Lauren! I'm excited to see that you are applying again! Do you mind if I ask why you think you were an alternate? I am nervous about not being accepted, but hope it isn't an issue, so I was wondering about your insight. Thank you!

I had to take microbiology the semester that the applications were due... this automatically made me an alternate. And my gpa wasn't very high. Since they just go off gpa's it put me low on the list.

Ah! That stinks. From what I've read, anyone who is done with all prerequisites should be at the top right? So you should be good this time?

Does anyone know how to submit transcripts? Do we just turn in sealed copies with our apps or do they have to be sent to the program directly from the institutions?

I will be applying this year and hoping for the best. Applications are due Friday!

Hey guys!

I applied for the program as well. I have a 3.6 for my under grad and 3.5 graduate degree in biomedical science. I feel so unsure about being entered into the program because I am taking micro and a and p 2 this spring semester. I have a couple certifications I included in my application as well. Does any one have experience being entered or know anyone who was entered?

I was accepted into the program last year with a 3.6 gpa and was still in the process of taking Physiology. I think you have a good chance :)
