Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

We also had a girl with a rare fatal disease. She was named after her other 5 siblings that had already died from it... Kendara Miracle Precious Angel Breea. She ended up having a less severe form of the disease and is living a relatively normal life.

Our NICU is divided into pods of 8 beds each and one day we had a Braeden, Graydon, Jayden & Kaden (twin girls), and an Aiden. When I gave report to the nurse coming on, she thought I was joking.

I had a friend whose last name was Johns...daddy named the baby, Red Long Johns!

I had a high school gym teacher whose mother named him, Seymore Harry butts...no kidding.

And, I grew up with a kid who had the name, Stony Brick Wall.

I have cousins with the last name of Busch...they all received flower names like Rose Busch.

And other friends whose last name was country, named their 8 kids after cities. Boston etc.

I once worked with a guy (in the Air Force) who's real name was Travis P. Travis. Who in their right mind would name their child travis travis.

I too knew a guy with the same name twice. His birth name was "Colby Colby" wth??

I also grew up with a girl that had the last name "Joker" so eventually they decided to change it. I mean they would call to get pizza and everyone thought it was a prank "yes this is Mr Joker and I'd like to order pizza" Anyway, he took his first name and made it his last name so his legal name was Lindsey Lindsey...

In our pediatric office, we have two little girls (not related) named Minuet and Cadence.

We have a parent in our group with the last name Cherry and her name is Cember Dee...can you guess what month she was born in. and talk about a stripper name Cember Dee Cherry?

I've heard some really strange names in my years as a pediatric medical assistant. We have had Myunique Angel, Crystal Chanda Lear, Bowe Bowler and we have a certain celebrity child with the middle name Crimefighter!

Sorry, this thread is really long, so I don't know if this has already been posted. It is a good piece that addresses lots of the unusual names that we are meant to believe children have been named.
