I think that for women who are on the pill, it may be difficult to tell when they are pregnant. For example, for some women, including myself, the side effects of birth control are quite significant. I had "morning sickness" all day long... and some women get a *significantly* lighter period while on birth control. I could see symptom-wise where it could be difficult to tell you are pregnant, especially right away...

It could also depend on the birth control, i think. They vary in doses of estrogen and/or progesterone. And I'm curious to know if your body compensates for the extra hormones you are giving that case, i would worry about abruptly stopping the bc when you find out you're pregnant if you're significantly along... So many women react so differently to different forms of birth control that there are many factors to look through when doing research.

It's an interesting topic, and I'm curious what current research shows.

Eden, I addressed your concern about the medical advice issue, as you can see. Now, perhaps we can move past that and on to a discussion about the issue of birth control and its effect on pregnancy. This is a worthy discussion, to be sure. I would welcome and love to hear from others who have information about this.

Isn't that what Eden has been "trying" to do!
