c/section scar

  1. OK I didn't title it what i really thought. One of my friends E-mailed those recently talked about shots of Brittnany Spears. (yeah those) most of what i noticed (well in addition to what i literally see everyday as an L&D Nurse. Her C/section scar is huge. I've had 2 C/sections I'm assumeing she has had two as well. I'm really overweight she's not her scar is thick and rope like I haven't seen a scar that big before, is that common place or do I just have really good surgeons that I work with.

Well, she only had a baby just a couple of months ago, that was also delivered by c-section.

I had a c-section and it took about 6 months for my scar to go down to where it was visually unnoticeable, but it pulled in my muscles, I think, too much, and the area where it is, is very uncomfortable and I never regained the feeling in that area that I had before....I'm 2 1/2 years post-op.

I had a keloid after my first csect--looked big and almost like plastic electrical cord. My second c-sect (different doctor) cut it off for me. Now I have two barely visible scars. Maybe Britney has a keloid.

There are rumors that she had a tummy tuck done at the same time. Not sure I believe that though. Her scar does look big, but her baby is only just over a month old I believe, so maybe that's why. I don't remember mine looking like that either.

This is my first post since I found the site a few months ago. Thought this topic would be a good start.

I have had two c-sections also. (5 and 3 years ago) When I palpate the scar it feels rope like underneath the skin. It has a tendency to burn a little too if I mess with it but the skin itself has little feeling. My lower belly looks like adhesions formed and is pulling it inward. Not a pretty site. That was almost three years ago too. I do not believe it is keloid since I have not had it form elsewhere. Everyone heals differently.
