OASIS nurses??

Published

I am currently a Private Duty RN (pediatrics), have been for 4 years. I really do not like my job because I am BORED!! I have an interview tomorrow for a position as an Oasis Nurse with a Home Health company. I did not even know there was such a thing. I can only assume that this job consists of doing initial assessments and do all the OASIS forms. Can anyone shed any light on this job for me? And any advice would be appreciated as well!

I just accepted a similar position after being a PDN for 9 months. I am very excited and a bit apprehensive. I know i am going to learn a ton and get amazing experience. I will have to work like a dog for a while to learn everything but that never scared me. I graduated in May of 09, and have a background in Corporate Administration. I also was in the military USN, and in my role there I dealt with regulations/policy.

I hope this works out, I have been through alot to get to this point.

Good luck to you!

Well, I LOVE it so far! I'm doing mostly SOC and recerts right now. But I did regular visits for the first few weeks. The company I work for is EXTREMELY organized and really care about the nurses. Good luck to you!

Specializes in ER, L&D, ICU, LTC, HH.

I am doing lots of SoC and such. We have a LPN that does a lot of the SNV. I wish for continuity of care. I like to see a patient through the whole process. They get a lot more benefit if you do. Oh well everyone is great where I am working now so I am at least feeling better.

Hope it goes well for you.
