At the agency I am working for, they told us that they would like the oasis turned in within 48 hrs, but if we got it finished in 7 days it was not considered late. So that is how we have been doing it. Well now the new supervisor is saying that was wrong and that it MUST be turned in within 48 hrs and at the latest 72. What is your policy?

Our Rns have to have the OASIS in by 48 hours the latest.

Same for PTs. no excuses.

My Clincial Manager would freak if someone held their paperwork for 7 days. And I mean literally freak.

We have 5 days but I try to do it within 1-2 day since I work full time. I dont want to get to far behind. Would never be able to catch up. Never know when I'm going to get the next admit or even someone elses recert.:o

Our policy on all SOC or Recert OASIS is 72 hours, all other paperwork and OASIS assessment is 24 hours. You need to look at what your policy says and follow it, that is the standard you will be held to by a surveying body.

Our agency policy is all paperwork must be turned in within 48 hours. It is true that the OASIS guidelines states the clinician must complete the OASIS data within five days of the SOC date, however, with the new PPS an agency would be nuts waiting five or more days for paperwork before being able to drop their RAP.

As a result of the in-services conducted regarding this, they are turning their OASIS paperwork into the offices within 24 hours in a majority of the cases.

I agree with KAZZ32......I would have a an Administrator pulling her hair out if we took five days to turn in the paperwork. :smackingf

Mine is the same as cny4rn - but personally I make it an effort to turn it in completed the next day because there is always more waiting to be started!!! We have been really busy lately with all of the flu bugs, the hospitals full and many ER boarders. I think that everyone is getting their hips and knees done right now too! How about you all?

Specializes in Home Health and ER.

Our agency is 24hrs. But if your really, busy we have to have it in within 5 days. The Oasis has to be transmitted within 7 days. I make it a practise of 24 to 48 hrs.

All paper work is submitted within 2 working days. That is our agency policy.

We are supposed to have all paperwork transmitted by the next morning at 10:00. If, however, we have a day with several OASIS they will give us an extra day. If we are ever over 2 days late then they start calling us and we are expected to come into the office and finish it before seeing the rest of our patients. I hate to even think of what they would do if I ever transmitted 7 days later. I hate having those visits sitting in my computer so I do my best to transmit the next day.

WOW.... we always turn ours in the next DAY.

If I do an admission today, all the paperwork is turned in by tomorrow morning. Same for dc's, recerts, ROCs, etc.

AND my daily visit notes. All must be turned in the next day.
