Oakland University-Beaumont Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia CRNA 2024

Published

Hey guys! Has anyone been able to apply to Oakland University AFTER the first August 1st deadline (matriculation Fall 2024)? Their program website says that their app is available on nursingcas through January 1st, 2024. However, when I go to find their program on NursingCas, nothing populates for me to apply?

No, but I fully anticipate getting a rejection email. Feel like the panel went as good as it could possibly go, but then I botched the sim. Hard learning experience... but an opportunity for growth nonetheless. I'll keep you guys posted.

Can you or are you willing to speak more on the simulation? Is it in their simulation lab and what kind of scenario? Like more geared toward your ICU? or Anesthesia care?

It's in their simulation lab. Mine was a general ICU deteriorating patient and you have to work them up and give all the orders. They have a couple students in there guiding you through the sim along with some panel members watching you as well. It definitely is a nerve wracking experience but wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Good luck!

Has anyone been accepted to the Fall 2024 cohort? Specifically in Kalamazoo?

Congrats! Anxiously awaiting mine as well!

I just received an email about a video interview assessment and then the it will be decided if you get a in person interview. Did all applicants get this email? Anyone gone through this yet?

Found this thread looking for answers about OU's pre-interview online questions. Can anyone in this thread tell me how those went and if they're critical care based or emotional questions? Thanks!

The interview is broken into two portions - the first is a round-table style with personal/ EQ questions. This is about 30 min. The second portion is a clinical scenario in their state-of-the-art simulation lab (also allotted for 30 min)

Hi. Thanks for the info. I'm wondering about the portion you have to do online before you even get picked for an interview! It's the part where you have to record yourself answering questions. I'm wondering what kind of questions these are

They are all Emotional Intelligence Questions, like questions you would get in at a regular job interview. The only one I can remember  was something along the lines of : "if you witnessed your clinical preceptor made a life-threatening mistake, what would you do?"

there are about maybe 6 or 7 questions like that.

After that you have about I thin 7-8 minutes to also write an essay on a prompt. I don't remember what the prompt was though.

Has anyone heard back for an in person interview for early admissions?
