Hello everyone!
I just received good news that I have been admitted into the Summer 2015 class. I wanted to reach out to my other classmates. I am hoping to start one of the nursing prerequisites soon and the rest this fall.
Congrats to everyone else who made it and good luck to others that are applying,
Kathy

Congratulations on getting accepted !
I was wondering if you could help me answer a few questions regarding the admittance to the program...
Do they also look at your overall undergraduate GPA besides the pre-nursing GPA? If you have a bunch of repeats, does that affect your admittance to the program?
Thank you x3niaq!
The best thing for questions would probably be to go to the advising session if you can. It looks like there is one next week and another at the end of August. I bet they would be able to answer all of your questions, they probably get the same questions over and over again.
Reading the application, you are allowed to have repeats, they look at the grade from the repeated course and not the first one. I think they would be more concerned with the pre-nursing GPA because those classes will directly affect the courses that you will take in nursing school. But at this point there is nothing you can do if you have repeats, move forward and apply and see what happens. There is also the statement of purpose that you have to write that can help you stand out as well.
Have a good one,
Kathy
I agree with the above response. The advising session was very helpful and a lot of questions are answered there. They look at the nursing pre-req classes only and the most recent of those classes. So even if you have repeated pre-req classes they are looking at the most recent grades and calculating your GPA from there.
@kelsona, the first semester is a bit demanding and just getting accustomed to the demands of nursing school can be a challenge. The first 7 weeks were truly bootcamp and then if you've never worked in a hospital, your first clinical experience will be eye-opening. Not necessarily hard, just a lot to take in.

Hi There,
I'm also in your cohort. I'm pumped and super nervous. I couldn't find the facebook page, could someone post a link? I'm really curious about where the clinical rotations will be, and I'm really hoping we can figure out a car pool.
