NYU Traditional Transfers Spring 2015

Published

Greetings all!

I'm making a thread for traditional transfer students who are applying to NYU in the Spring 2015. I would really like to talk about the application and GPA. I'm worried about my GPA, I am a 3.1 and i am going to take nutrition and Statistics this fall 2014.

I went to the information they held yesterday in the NYU Genomics building. There they talked about The transfers, generics ans of course students who hold a Bachelors already. We Transfers are very hard to get into the program the woman said. we are 27-28% while the ones who hold the bachelors is 35% are accepted. They have a better chance. But what about us Transfers?

Oh and I already toke Anatomy and Physiology I, II, Microbiology, Chemistry, Psych, Development, Soc, Eng I, II, Text and Ideas, Cultures and context (had to go to another school)

I submitted my application August 1st. They woman said that they take you based upon how unique you are. Not GPA (it helps a lot though)

Heeeey ! :)

It sucks to hear about transfers having a harder time being accepted into nyu. I had no idea this was the case. Hopefully I'm in that 28-38% who get accepted !! Im in the process of finishing my application. Just waiting on a recommendation and ill be all good to go. Im taking micro, computer science, and chemistry this semester. Ive done all the other prerequisites. My gpa is a 3.9 ( 2nd college I've attended),but then again the first college i attended I had a gpa of 2.9 ( you learn from your mistakes). Don't know how thats going to sum up. But as you mentioned gpa dosent really matter so I'm just hoping I'm unique enough !

Wow, with that GPA your definitely getting in. I wonder if Spring semester has less applicants than Fall? If so this might increase our chances haha.

Hi!

I am also a transfer applicant for Spring 2015. I currently go to the University of Central Florida with a GPA of 3.3

My last pre requisite is Anatomy and Physiology 2 which I am currently taking at the moment.

It is my dream to attend NYU's nursing program because of the many opportunities that will be available to me in the city.

I have lived in Florida all my life and it is time for me to go out and explore my options to pursue my dream to ultimately become a CRNA.

I just have my writing component left to finish for my Common App which I am hoping to complete today. Priority deadline is October 1st! I am SUPER anxious to find out if I get accepted or not. My acceptance can mean HUGE change for my life and I couldn't be any more excited.

Thank you for creating this post. Now we can talk amongst ourselves as we await the decisions!

I'm so anxious as well. It's tough to get in. I have been reading other polls and all I read is students that already hold a bachelors getting into the program and us transfers and traditional students are being cut. I wonder what is it they are really looking for in a student?

I heard that people who attend the nursing program at nyu have many options when they finish? Have you guys heard of this to ?

Yes I have herd the same thing. Because of its reputation.

HEY GUYS! Have you heard anything back from admissions yet?!!? It sucks that we are considered as second choice when compared to the accelerated program applicants. I hope we get in!! How many of you are from NY?

Heeeey! I heard that on dec.05 we should be notified. We can check after 5pm and see whether or not we got in. probably read it on the school website? no idea. 1 more day !!but like you said it sucks we are considered second choice. Its makes it twice as hard to get in. Still crossing fingers that we get accepted!! ...I'm from new York. Takes me about 45 min to get to the school campus. But with traffic probably takes me like an hour or so.

Guys. Ignore comment about dec 05. No ideA where I saw that . I was looking to see if I saw it again and noo . I must have imagined it. I guess we just have to keep on waiting . Good luck guys

The main Albert website says we should be getting acceptance/rejection emails on December 15th after 5PM. BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE! :)

I'm curious where everyone is from, that's why I asked. I'm from South Florida, currently going to UCF in, well, Central Florida. I've visited New York a few times now and fell completely in love with the city lifestyle mainly because it's the total opposite of the Florida lifestyle. Well, if I get accepted into NYU I hope to make many new friends! Including all of you :) keep me updated guys!
