NYU or SUNY Downstate '09 Hopefuls??

I applied to both of these programs pretty early and was wondering if anyone else was awaiting a response? I'm pretty sure you're supposed to start hearing from NYU after November 15th but I'm not sure about SUNY.

I applied to SUNY and NYU as well. I really don't know about when we will hear from them. Have you thought about applying to the college of new rochelle?

I thought about it but I livng in the apt I have now in Brooklyn, and a commute to New Rochelle would be brutal.

FYI: SUNY Downstate replied to my e-mail today saying that they are currently reviewing applications and make decisions on a rolling basis - I will know in January. (I submitted my app. for this program at the beginning of September).

It's cutting really close to when I would potentially be starting another program so I really don't know how this is going to work.

Well, I hope that you get into their program. Don't you wish that you can hear from them immediately after you submit your application. Oh well now is the waiting game, yikes!!

Are you all applying to SUNY and NYU for Spring '09 or Fall '09?

I am getting ready to send my application in for Fall for SUNY and may apply to NYU. I am on the alternate list for a program for spring '09 (so frustrating!) but decided to go ahead and apply to more schools for this coming fall.

I just took the NET for SUNY last week and I have a few questions that I could not find answers to on their webpage...in registering for the NET through ERI are the scores automatically sent to SUNY? Does anyone know what score they are looking for for acceptance into SUNY?

At their info session they said you needed to have a composite score of 65 on the NET, at least.

Do you mean ur sending in your SUNY application for Summer '09 start? Their Accelerated BSN only starts in the summer.

Yes, I meant for Summer '09. Do you know what the composite score consists of? Is it just math, written expression, and reading? or are the science and testtaking scores added in as well? My score print out did not have a composite, it only listed each section individually.

I think they only count verbal and math from what i remember. I figured you just average those percentages together from those two sections? Im not exactly sure how they calculate it

Did anyone hear anything back from Downstate? I sent in my application in Oct. and I'm really anxious.

I sent my application at the beginning of September and haven't heard anything. I e-mailed them a few weeks ago and they said they were currently reviewing applications. They said I would hear from them by January.

The deadline for Downstate is Jan. 2, so I don't think decisions will be sent out until closer to Feb.
