Members are discussing the hiring process at NYU Langone, sharing experiences with phone screens, interviews, and references. Some express frustration with the website, while others offer advice on navigating the application process and timelines for hiring. Questions about salary offers for new grads and comparisons between hospitals are also brought up.
Hello I recently applied for a position at NYU, they sent me an email recently saying to complete an online questionnaire or assessment tool. Is that a good sign? Do I have a good chance of hearing back?
Okay guys - help!!!
I went to the same PeriOp Interview day in February and it seemed to go well... but then I heard nothing from the recruiters! Finally I emailed them and asked about the status of my application, and got this generic email back:
Good Evening,
At this time, we are in the final stages of selecting candidates that are the best fit for each of our nursing teams. You are still under consideration for an opportunity with us and we will contact you with an update as soon as possible.
We apologize for this delay and understand that you may have a pending opportunity with another organization. If you wish to withdraw from consideration at this time, please let us know.
Thank you for your patience throughout the interview process.
My friend seems to think this is a good thing, because it isn't a "no". But knowing that all of you guys are getting hired, (And congrats! so excited for you) is making me think this is a polite way for them to keep me on the hook until they can reject me.
What do you guys think? How should I proceed from here? I REALLY want this job....
I received that same email! But I am also not a new grad so I'm wondering if they're doing them first. Are you?

Hahah, so this is gonna sound weird, but I actually don't know if I'm considered a new grad or not. I graduated in may and got my license in september, and have been working in a group home facility as a nurse since October. However, my job is mainly administrative, and I have very VERY few clinical responsibilities. So some institutions consider me a new grad, and others don't. For both our sakes, I'm now hoping NYU doesn't lol
It says that you are still under consideration, so that is good! You should keep emailing HR for an update or even call them saying you are still interested in the position, you would still like to be considered and hope to hear from them soon! They are delayed because some of us still haven't received the official offer email
I know it feels annoying, but you have to be persistent! If it's a no, it's a no, but at least you tried. I would call today. They usually don't answer so just leave a voice message! It will show that you are still very interested. You could say something like "Hi this _____, calling in regard to the perioperative interview day on feb. 15th, I am still very interested in the position and would like to know if you have received any further updates. Please give me a call back at (your number) . Thank you , bye" and if they still don't answer then email again monday
congrats! that's so exciting! Good for you!
the recruiter I spoke to said that I got that form email because even though I didn't get an offer from the two managers I spoke to at the interview day, I did get a lot of positive feedback. So he is trying to set me up to interview with another nurse manager next week. Fingers crossed and praying hard!!

Hi I received an offer over the phone too for the PACU. I emailed Sunday night following up and I got an email today saying that I will receive the official offer by the end of the week and that they are very delayed because they are approving a lot of nurse profiles!
