NYU ASBN Fall 2020

Published

Hi! I figured I start a thread (I know it's super early, but I can't be the only one that plans ahead!) for Fall 2020 admissions!

I started my application and hope to find someone else out there going through this process. I have a question though after reading other NYU ASBN threads:

Are we allowed to submit an application if we have some prerequisites courses in progress? I plan to take the remainder of my prereqs (nutrition, statistics, chem, and dev psych) during spring 2020 semester.

I'm super nervous! I have by BS in Early Childhood Education - totally different spectrums. Goodluck to everyone! Hope to hear back from someone soon ?

Does anyone know when the Spring 2021 application opens ? I believe priority deadline is sometime in September

Hi @futurenursejuanny87

I'm applying for the accelerated program because all I need is Chemistry, which I plan to finish this coming Spring semester. I'm a little nervous because my cum GPA in my university is 2.65 (psychology major) as well as my pre-req GPA. I have a little volunteer experience at Stanford's children hospital. I'm hoping to get in by my letter of rec and my essay since I heard NYU looks at apps holistically.

hello! I am just reading this now but how did it go? did u get in. I'm on the same boat(same GPA/major) and experience

I’m wondering if I have a chance of getting in , I have a 3.47 GPA in my undergrad in psychology. However I have received a C in Chemistry but As and Bs in the other prerequisites. I started volunteering at a hospital but it was closed down due to coronavirus. I’m nervous I won’t get in anywhere due to not having volunteer hours . Any information would help!

I know this answer is going to suck, but there's no way to tell. NYU doesn't just look at grades or just look at volunteer/work experience, they look at the whole package. Strong letters of rec and a GREAT personal essay can matter more, I think, than volunteer experience. So just make sure to nail those!
