Hi Jerseygirl12! Are you starting at NYP? I'm starting soon, and I've been told that the first two days are a hospital-wide orientation for all positions/specialties. The third day will be with Nursing Education. Those 3 days are the only things that have been explained to me in writing - It has also been mentioned that the nursing education sessions may extend across the first 2 weeks, but that was just a comment in passing so I'm not certain of that.
Hi FunnyNurse10 - I received your PM but I can't reply just yet - if you send me your email I would be glad to respond!
Hi absolutely
Me, still waiting to hear back. I am an RN looking to move to critical care, I have close to 2 years hospital experience but job search is about as difficult as when i was a new grad. I do not get considered b/c i do not have experience in that specific department as per the recruiter. However new grads get hired and they dont have experience either. I feel as if I'm in worse luck than a new grad. Its all about patience i guess. Im grateful for my current job but i rather work with a patient population that needs the most nurse care.

Has anyone has orientation at NYP Columbia? How long is the classroom session? How many weeks before you are on the floor?
