well first of all congrats on mt sinai! I'll definitely be applying there when the time comes.
and I figured it would be difficult haha I appreciate your honesty.
how difficult was it to get an interview? was there a specific recruiter you contacted?

at mt. sinai did you apply to different jobs or did you apply specifically to their residency program? I'm interested in NICU/peds so I'm wondering if that's even an option there for new grads
Thanks and no I applied to all different jobs basically they told me that all new grad RN go thru a residency program.. There was a fellowship er position I applied to last September but I couldn't take my NCLEX in time so that might be different. The residency is yesr long with classroom experience like once a month.. And I have a very generous 3-4month preceptorship

yeah the pay is pretty freaking amazing especially since I still live at home and don't need to pay city rent prices LOL... tips well hopefully you worked your *** off in school my grades were pretty high bc I knew some residencies/ fellowships required at 3.5 or higher to even get looked at it.. Do you have any patient care experience prior to school I feel like that helped make my resume look stronger.. But honestly besides the good grades and EMS experience I didn't really do anything special, I don't have any publications, extensive volunteer experience, was not part of any clubs or anything in school. I just went into the interview and was myself, spoke professionally but confidently and it landed me the spot, being your self in the interview is key, it made the interview feel more informal and conversational and you kind of forget what is on the line LOL
Hi all! I'm graduating this May and want to apply to peds jobs in NYC as well. So for Mt. Sinai, every new grad position is automatically in the residency program...does anyone know if it is the same for their children's hospital? Will the job postings say New Grad specifically? Does anyone know if NYU does the same thing in regards to the residency program? Very interested in Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone if anyone has any info on their new grad positions/residency...no info about it online either! Thanks in advance!

Hi guys!
I'll be graduating this May with my BSN and I'm interested in applying to nurse residencies in NYC. Just curious if anyone could provide some insight to the interview process and how competitive/difficult it is to land a job at one of the big NY hospitals (such as NYP and NYU). Please let me know!
