NYC new grad jobs

Published

I recently graduated/passed my NCLEX. I have been applying to jobs at all NYC hospitals and have been hearing crickets. I am starting to get discouraged. Has anyone experienced this as a new grad in NYC? Any advice on how to get my food in the door. I have been messaging recruiters on LinkedIn but many do not respond.

Hello,

How many other places have you applied to?  Which hospitals? After passing my NCLEX last year, it took me about 3-4 months to finally land a position. Feel free to PM me

Hi, I graduated in Sept and got my NY license in December. I have been applying to jobs since Oct. NYU basically was like stop trying at this point in Jan after talking to a recruiter since August. Stats 3.8 GPA and grad from a top accelerated program. I am in the same boat with recruiters :( I started to get my license for another state

I'm sorry you're going through this.

My first job I applied to was a Med Surg position at montefiore. I decided I'll work about 1-2 years to learn, gain experience as a new grad and to get my foot in the door. I work for 1 year and decided to resign (due to management) and applied to another hospital which took about 2 months for me to get hired.
Keep going, try reaching out to past classmates, or applying to city hospitals.

Are you attending hiring events?

Are you only applying to private hospitals?

NYC HHC has hiring events every week and hires on the spot. Have you tried these hospitals?
