I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?
i_anniemd_rn said:Exactly! I'll be okay if we're told we can't work in NY (because of THEIR new rule), but don't block my blessings elsewhere. That decision shouldn't be for NY to make for all other states. I'll definitely be praying about this upcoming meeting. I still have my job offer from 5/7, God willing I can accept it by the end of September.
This is only for NYS. Each state regulates their own BON.
Curiously , I stumbled on Washington state board of nursing platform which updated ( July 21st, 2023 )the list of FL state fraudulent schools from its previous 6 to 19 schools now. More schools were added after reviewing for their participation in the fraudulent act with the initial 6 major culprits listed on NYBON. I hope this get resolved on time by NYBON for those of us who did not go to any of these schools. This is really depressing !
I just hope they know what they're talking about next Monday and Tuesday because I'm tired of paying for a crime I didn't commit. Hell, they can keep their license just release my score. That's the only thing I'm waiting for because I have till 9/25 to provide all necessary documents to my state or I'll have to redo my application and it's not fair.

Thanks
Anyone called the board to ask about this pending meeting? The person I spoke to yesterday had no idea what I was talking about.
I think they only take calls on Tuesday and Thursday

That is for processing unit. That is who u need to speak to.
Regular customer service will not be able to help with license issue/ school holds, so they will redirect you.

Yes, that right. I called yesterday. LOL I'll try again tomorrow though. In the meantime, im waiting for FL to process my application just in case. I spoke to someone at the OIG office and the Office of independent colleges and universities....they were all like WOW!. They looked up my school and stated that there shouldn't be an issue.
Keep in mind that the OIG is one of the offices involved in this whole investigation. I even told them that my school sent NY a letter of legitimacy and they have my transcripts. "What more does NY need?" was the response given. No one on this side of the tracks thinks it fair how they're going about it all. IDK what to say anymore.
I'm currently studying for an exam I passed months ago.

That the 280 extension, right?
Yes ext 280 maybe we should keep calling until an answer is given. Some of these reps work from home and have no idea what's going on unless you push to have the request run by a supervisor. Or they're so used to saying "under review" or under "investigation" when we can clearly see the schools are are under investigation what are y'all holding my score but we can't blame the reps because they can't really do much and supervisors are not taking calls. The more I talk about this the more frustrated this gets. UNBELIEVABLE

You're right! Sighs, every time I request to speak to a supervisor, they basically tell me a supervisor can't be reached. I was given his email, but im still waiting. It's been over a week. I can't believe this is us.... begging for our licenses.

It's listed under the advisory notices. However, I called this morning to confirm and the lady had no idea was I was talking about. In the last 4 months I've been calling, I've realized that they'll give different info and not everyone knows. If you call, please let us know.
