I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

Does that mean if we complete the BSN somewhere else while this school is on hold, we cannot update our on- hold applications with our new credentials?
What happens if the school is under investigation with a current program but the previous program NYS approved is closed already? My program was pre-pandemic. I am already licensed out of state and changing jobs that needs a NY license. My old program is even available in Pearson anymore; the current one is
Any insights

Again the only way you can use your BSN education to update application And get a NYS license is as long as the there are NO transfered credits from a school that NYS has on hold and under review on it.
to be honest anyone still needing to take exam and not trying to get a NYS license ( to work in NYS) should just test in another state. If you are trying to get a NYS license you will either have to wait for review to be done and hope education is approved or just go to another nursing school all together. especially since the exam is going to get harder with more questions in April of 2023

Yeah thats true or hopefully they get a compact license within that state and wait until NYS get NLC in a few years or so.
even if NYS was to become compact they will still have to look at education information. which I highly doubt they will do nor should they
Can we test in another state if you’ve passed NCLEX already and just waiting for review to be over
Does anyone know the answer to that can you test in another state? When you already taking the test in NY and passing. I went to one of school in Florida that is under review. The representative said that school I went to most recently one. 10/29/22 I wrote to the Board of Nursing in Florida and sent an email about my situation. Email me back stating that I have to fill out a Licensure application that they will review.

NCLEX is a ontime only exam once you pass it there is no need to take it again. which is why Pearson vue won't let you even register again once you have passed
Hi star I understand what you are saying, to test in another state. From my understanding that’s not possible for all. NY will not be transferring any transcripts to other states.

In general nys doesn't send any documents/information recived to process out to other entities ( no matter what) doesn't matter if school is under review or not. only infromation being shared is score report or license verification for those whose school is not under review

Happy Thanksgiving to all and we have a lot to be thankful for. I just hope and pray that this issue that the rest of us are facing will be resolved soon considering our license.
