I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

Okay. So usually the issue are those who have a Fl single state
did anyone graduate from Techni pro Institute. I know someone who went there and is in the same boat of not getting made elgible for NCLEX by NYS and when they tried to call the school for another transcript to go to another state was told they had to pay $7,000.

You were saying if you wanted to apply through NYC BON whether you pass an exam by another state. Once your school is under review nobody won't get a license until the review is done basically, and back in good standing. Sorry for the miscommunication.
right no problem, I know its stressful going to school investing all that time and money only to be told b/c your school may have done something fradulent it affects you the student

They did give me information on where I can obtain my transcript for the RN course that I received an associate degree. I want to move on I don't know when this review going end my life is on hold. I was planning to get my BSN. I thought you have to give them a license number to fill out the application process for BSN
so here is the thing if you obtained a associates degree in nursing and a state puts that particular school under review. any credits transfered( from that school under review) to another school to obtain a bachelor's degree. is still going to put you in the same boat of being on hold
so palm beach school of nursing and Siena college of health and siena educational center( all owned by the same people) which has already had education denied In washington state ,Maryland and I believe New Jersey. are under review for a lot of states because the owners are being federally investigated for selling transcripts to people who have not officaily registered for and taken any classess.
I don't believe they are owned by the same people just a rumor. This is bad. People that are buying their way make it bad for those that did the curriculum and did all those hours of clinicals. This is why there cracking down
I have a question, what if you passed and received license. Will BON deny you to renew when it’s time for renewal, if school is under investigation? I went to one of the schools on the list but graduated 6 years ago.

No once a license is issued it is good for life and can't not be put on hold because the school is under review. But it can be for other reasons like disciplinary action for you as an individual

In CT I have to renew my license annually. I renewed it a few months ago and didn’t have any issues.
