I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to add my $0.02.
I went through this program and received my LPN license in 2006. The program is geared for women and men who are on PA and/or receiving some sort of assistance from the govt. The qualifications may have changed but in addition, you must have:
HS Diploma (not sure if GED is accepted)
SS card (children also)
Birth certificate (children also)
A background check is done as well. The program will set up and conduct classes necessary for the NET exam (math, vocabulary, reading comprehension tests). Depending on where you live will determine which LPN program you will enter. For ex....if you live in Bronx, you have a choice of BOCES in Westchester. Once you finish the program, they will help you with the process for the NCLEX exam. This program has many nursing homes whom which sponsors this funded program. All school expenses are paid so you don't have to pay anything except for maybe transportation to and from school. I must say that I was lucky to get accepted and it was the best thing for me. I wish they had a bridge program to RN.

I saw it posted in another area. It sounds like what you mentioned. I pasted it here just in case.

No, this is not the same program. This program is for city workers who wish to enter into nursing. The other program is a government funded program. The number that was recently posted is the correct number. If anyone needs a point of contact, feel free to PM me.
