NVCC nursing program orientation

Published

After waiting 2 years, I finally got into a nursing program, which happens to be @ Nova! I've worked really hard and have gone through a lot of rejection to get where I am today! I'm really excited. :lol2:

That being said, I am aware the orientation is mandatory...however, I am leaving the country that morning at 6AM. Do you think if I sat down with someone, they could adjust for me?? I'm so scared they are going to forfeit my acceptance, but at the same time, they should have had more dates (and spread apart) for orientation. A lot of people are on vacation for the summer! Anyone have any experience or could give me advice?

Your best bet is to contact them ASAP. One has to do a math exam that day. Mrs Vito is the 1st year Admin person, her # is 703-822-6519

I know it's a year later, but i'm kind of in the same situation. If accepted, I won't be able to be here on the orientation- I'll be in Europe for 2 months. What happened to you? Were they understanding? Thanks.

Every situation is different, so your best bet would be to contact the school and see what they have to say.

Hey, Flames!

How are you doing?

Are you graduating this Spring? Wow, time goes fast. I will do what you did last year. I am taking summer off. Not taking any classes. How soon are you taking your NCLEX?

Sorry, hanga27, I drifted away from the subject.

I hope you call NOVA and they answer your questions. There are so many things to do after you get accepted to the program. I was very busy last year. Maybe you could do it before you leave. There are mendatory immunisations, background check, uniform shopping etc. Good luck!

Hi. Will write the NCLEX as early as possible, end June to early July time frame. From my understanding late June is usually the earliest 1 has the chance to write it, but early to Mid July is more likely of a time frame! All depends how fast the school gets the paperwork to the BON and when one submitted their paperwork. 20 days till we write the Final exam!!

If you can take any classes such as nur 254/255, I would take them, so nice not having any of those classes to worry about during the semester.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.
