Hello everyone. please i have a question which has been bothering me for a while now. how do i manage the nutritional needs of a patient who is both diabetic and already has the AIDS disease? Thanks for giving us students too the opportunity to benefit from some of you experienced nurses.i look forward to your answers and contributions

That's what the dietitian is for . Srsly, nurses are generalists - our scope of practice does not include analysis of nutritional needs & prescribing the therapeutic diet. "Our" part is to provide the patient with assistance needed to actually consume the diet. Physician education does not include nutritional science either, so they also rely on dietitians when it comes to meeting complex nutritional needs.
