Nursing exams in the UK

World UK

Hello all nurses :)

I am Anna from Poland. I'm 23 years old.

In July I passed theoritical exam (which means I wrote nearly 50 pages of work about caring of patient after Thyroidectomy surgery) and I had to present general view on my work in front of 2 teachers. I had also a practical exam in a hospital, what was sort of a failure, bacause of pressure and teachers' misunderstanding.

And that's how 3 years of studying passed quickly. That gave me title of "Licensed nurse".

Now I'm studying Public Health (2 years) and in the next year I'm planning to contuinue Nursing studies (2 years more) on a higher level.

I didn't go to work after Licensed Degree, cause to be honest I've got scholarship and addictional money after my mum's death (she died when I was 8 years old). I am afraid of adult, responsible nursing world and this whole pharmacology.

In my hometown there wasn't really strict nursing education. I've got lots of holes in my nursing knowledge and I am kind of slow person and brokenhearted (because of some mental issues in my life partly caused by my mum's death) so it would be a long process to get used to fast and busy work with patients and befriend with other nurses that for sure are not always nice.

In my imagination I would like to work in England as a nurse, but I know that English society is tired of people from abroad who take their jobs and there is problem with Brexit.

Maybe at least I will be successful enough to make at least movie there if I will ever write a screenplay (of course if it will be accepted).

I love English language, so on my own I look at some tests and knowledge from foreign websites. I love tests connected with NCLEX exams, but I wonder what kind of Nursing exams in the United Kingdom You had to pass?

That's my main question. I would like to look at some UK nursing tests.

Greetings for Everyone :)

Suggest looking at requirements for trained outside the UK but within the EU on the NMC website and see what is required for you.

Hi Anna,

As far as I can remember EU nurses do not need to meet the language requirement few years ago. However, the registration rules had changed last July. See the links below:
