Nursing Student Where should i go?

Published

Hi this is my first post, this is my 2nd semester in college and im worried. i go to lccc and im taking all my prereq as of right now but i read on here when ur down it can still take 2 to 3 years just to get into the nursing program. I was going to ask maybe if someone here is in same situation or if someone been through this before? and i was debating on tranfering to tri c, mayb il get into their nursing program fdaster? i just want to be a nurse asap! thanks!

I am wondering the same thing. Although I have thought of doing CSU accelerated BSN program because this will be a 2nd degree for me. But it's pretty far away, twice the money and 40 hours a week! Yikes

I don't know how it is throughout the country for nursing schools, but speak to LCCC's admissions dept if there's a wait and if so, how long is the wait. If the wait is really 2-3 years, then I would encourage you to finish your degree and apply to an ABSN program. A friend of mine is taking that route because he can't get into any ADN programs in our area despite having a 3.8 GPA. One guidance counselor even had the nerve to tell him if he doesn't have a 4.0 GPA, don't even bother applying. Ouch.

I graduated from a 15-months ABSN program. I experienced a bit of a wait (only 3 months) because the semester I applied for was full so they accepted me for the following semester. That 3 months wait was a breeze because I just signed up for a class at my local CC. So, my advise to you is to find out from the school's admissions board if there is a wait and make a decision from there. Best of luck.
