hi i'm a new user here and considering to finish my nursing in the philippines since i attended almost 2 years there. now i need is a nursing checklist so i know what will they credit. can anybody respond to this? thank you.

hi.

i believe it would be best if you ask the school where you want to enrol for a prospectus.

Although the major nursing subjects are the same, each school differ (though very slightly) in the minor subjects that are included in their program.

For example, some schools require you to take subjects in religion, others do not. Then some schools require more units in a particular subject while others require less.

If you already have a school in mind, maybe I can help you get a prospectus. :wink2:

Good day!

Nanay is right.. You have to check for the school's curriculum because every school has a different one. Although most subjects are the same, some schools change curriculum annually and their subject description changes. Some, doesn't credit subjects that are below 85 so they will require you to enroll it again. Others, will require you take other minor subjects due to *blah* *blah* excuses....:uhoh3:

i looked a few website but doesn't seem to work, or can't find their curriculum. i'm in the united states right now so there's really nothing i can do much but to browse the website. i looked at ceu, perpetual but most of the time their web page cannot be viewed. where do you both (nanay & crazy nurse) graduated maybe you can give me something from your school. thanks

Maybe you can advise me the names of the schools that you are considering. I will try to get a prospectus from those schools and will email it to you.

Different schools have different policies on crediting subjects previously taken. While they can furnish you a copy of their curriculum, it is still best to talk to a Registrar/Dean/Nursing Faculty/any school official that has the authority to decide on your status in the school that you wish to apply to, so that she can tell you what the school will really credit. In that way, you would officially know way ahead how many more years you need to complete the program and you can make the appropriate decision. Good luck!

i only know two schools which have different curriculum: (since my relatives and I only enrolled in these schools)

1. Perpetual help college - they have AHSE curriculum (same as other nx schools)

2. UST - they have a specified subject in each topic. Their syllabus is the same as that of the board exam in Philippines.

ex. in perpetual, they have this MCN (mother and child) as one subject yet in UST they have obstetrics course and pediatric course. (Different subject and of course, you'll get individual grade for each.)

i hope it helped you. but i think you should still asks those two schools, 'coz PHC accepts transferee while UST (i think) doesn't accept one (or it can be under negotiation.)

you can go to the ff websyts: UST http://www.ust.edu.ph/ or in PHC http://www.mb.com.ph/issues/2006/03/28/SCAU2006032859977.html

tata! :)

and oh... Good luck on your decision! :) hope you'll find a school that suits what you need. :)

Hi there. Since you've already attended 2 years of BSN, why don't you just continue it with the same institution. That way you dont have any trouble. But if you really want to finished it in a different school, well, you have to get your grades and honorable dismissal and other black and white from your previous school. These are needed in entering to a new school. And If you are planning to continue your BSN this 2nd semester, you have to be in the Philippines soon because you have to take entrance exam and others.
