Hello,
I am a nursing student from newyork. Does anyone know if it is possible to do an externship there. Pls let me know.

You would need to sort something out via your school, I'd imagine. We do not have "externships" per se in Australia. There are some schools that do semester-long exchanges though.

New graduates down this way complete a new graduate program their first year out of school. That is the closest thing to an externship. I would think it would be difficult to go to OZ and do much without a license unless you were enrolled in a Uni there. There is always time after you graduate.
Working in another country can be a great experience. It is also a steep learning curve as while the language is supposedly the same, the culture and practice is quite different. My favorite job ever was in the Australian Outback and I would reccommend that to anyone.
My understanding is that an externship is clinical experience for students, and not like the GNP which is for licensed nurses.
