Is anyone else here a part of their school chapter of NSNA, is available? How do you feel about it, along with other clubs/extracurricular activities that are related to nursing? Do you, would you, or could you make the time for it? Since other college students do all these things and get the "college experience", why not us? I know there are strict time constraints, but there are possibilities. I've been in NSA for a year now, as we are required to at our school to earn a certain amount of points in order to graduate. I guess it ensures our participation. In fact, I just joined the publishing committee. I was just wondering about the subject and wanted to see what the is census here. Let's not banish ourselves to personal exile from our schools all the time in our quick sand of books.

I'm not really sure what you are asking. Yes, I'm involved in my school's chapter of SNA (Student Nurse's Association) which is what I think you're speaking of, I'm also active in my state group and plan to go to the NSNA annual convention.
I was just asking others' opinions about NSA and what they have done during their time of membership. I was just wondering how other nursing students are getting involved on campus and in the community. I don't know if it is required for other schools though.
Still not sure if you mean SNA (Student Nurse's Association)? Which is the local version of NSNA (National Student Nurse's Association).
NSNA membership is mandated in our school, but participating isn't.
Oh, I think they are the same thing. Our is also a local chapter of the National Student Nurse's Association

Membership and participation are not mandated at our school - I'm one of the few members of my cohort who is a member. I don't go to meetings much, but I did organize a service project, so I feel like I've contributed, or at least made an effort to.
A student nurses association is like any student organization - it is what the membership makes of it.

Joining my school's SNA is optional. I joined, but so far it hasn't been overly active. A few conferences have been scheduled, and some Fall school events have been planned. But I think that we're all just so busy to really focus on making SNA this huge thing that everyone knows about. If you mention "SNA" on campus, most people don't know what you're talking about. Ironically, people on our campus do know a nursing student when they see us, even out of uniform. :/
