Anyone have information about Air Force ROTC?

Nursing Students Student Assist

I am thinking about doing the AFROTC for nursing school. They will pay for 100% of my tuition, plus give me an allowance while ins chool. This is very appealing because the University of Portland is extremely expensive...for just two years I'll owe $80,000. and even more if i take out loans for living expenses.

I am just wondering if anyone is in the AFROTC and if they have give me any advice...

I am a total girlly girl, so i just dont want to b completely shocked

USAF vet here.....recipient of USAF scholarship as well.

Granted, mine was back in 1979 - 1984......but much of it has not changed. One thing I have heard is that there is a limit on how much private school tuition they will pay. Have to talked to the ROTC officers at the school? They are probably your best bet. :D

I am an enlisted Air National Guard member as an FCC (flying crew chief) for five years and a male nursing student and would DEF recommend considering this route if you want the option of working private-sector nursing or ANG officer, while still being a civilian. I fly about one or two weekends a month, AND get my nursing school tuition paid for as well as a monthly stipend. There is no mandatory obligation after graduating like ROTC plus you can always go down that route later if you decide. I am getting ready to graduate and hopefully get my commison as a Guard RN while going for my NP. Good luck!
