Nursing Standards topic help

Hi, I am doing a presentation on nursing standards and need to find information on the general standards of nursing practice. I know there are standards for ANA, NLN and so forth but been doing some research and have not been able to find them, seems as though you need to buy the nursing scope and standard of practice books. I even did a search using my school database but have not been able to find the main standards as i get article on standards for specialized fields ex. standards for oncology nurse, pediatric etc. I just need to now what the standards are and I can go from there. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction would greatly appreciate it
